This Dusting for Fingerprints Refill Kit enhances student learning with an efficient, three-station design. Students refine their fingerprint analysis techniques by preparing their own evidence sets. Through inquiry-based learning, they investigate the most effective methods for stabilizing, dusting, lifting, and developing fingerprints on a variety of surfaces, including light and dark plastics, metals, wood, vinyl, and more. Using advanced techniques with carbon, aluminum, magnetic fluorescent powders, magnetic applicators, fiberglass brushes, and camel hair brushes, students develop the skills necessary to analyze and compare intricate fingerprint details. Ultimately, they apply their knowledge to solve a captivating crime scenario at the Museum of the Modern Detective.
