This Fabrics and Fibers Refill Kit provides students with a comprehensive introduction to fabric and fiber analysis. Through a series of four engaging experiments, students will learn to characterize fibers based on their origin (animal, vegetable, mineral, or synthetic). They will employ a variety of techniques, including burn tests, protein and sulfur analysis, microscopic observation, chemical solubility tests, and stress/strain analysis. Students will also learn proper evidence collection techniques and apply their knowledge to identify three unknown fibers, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
